I have spent a little time tonight reflecting on testimonies of my daughter, my husband, and my own. God has done very real, and very powerful things in my home. I have made a practice of writing them down in detail. I also write a shorter version of them in my Bible. I am so glad that I have, because I really need reminders. I love seeing the writing and marks all over my Bible.
2010 was one of the most intense years of my life. 2011 was a rest from that. Of course I have no idea what 2012 will hold, but I know the God who holds me. He is good! I know that the ground that was tilled in 2010, allowed for the planting of seeds in 2011, that will spring forth growth in 2012.
I will be thankful for His presence, and keep trusting Him. Happy New Year!

My Mom's Birthday
Yesterday would have been my mom's 57th birthday. In April it will be 12 years since she passed away. SweetHeart wore beautiful blue butterfly earrings for the special day. I find it so sweet that she likes to remember her Grandma who she has never met. I look forward to their meeting.

He Sustains Us
The other day I was feeling really overwhelmed about whether or not I could really do anything He would ask of me. I read this and was so uplifted!
"Unlike the unprincipled political or business leader who uses people up and then discards them, God never fails to sustain us. Knowing that the LORD we serve is also the Lord who loves us, we need not fear that He will take advantage of us or that He will ask us to do something we cannot possibly do. Realizing who the Lord is will enable us to stop worrying about who we are or what we lack so that we can abandon our lives to Him, confident we can do whatever He asks through the grace He supplies.
Surely God is my help; the Lord is the One who sustains me. (Psalm 54:4)
One thing God has spoken, two things have I heard: that You, O God, are strong, and that You, O Lord, are loving. (Psalm 62:11-12)
But You, O Lord, are a compassionate and gracious God, slow to anger, abounding in love and faithfulness. (Psalm 86:15)
Pray for the grace to become a servant like Jesus."
